Aini district

Aini district administrative district in the Sughd area Republic of Tajikistan. It was formed November 23, 1930 as Falgarsky area. Decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic in 1978 in honor of Sadriddin Aini Aini district renamed.

The regional center - the settlement of urban type Aini, located 177 km south of the city of Khujand.

Geography

Aini district is located in the valley of the Zarafshan River. In the west, north and east borders, respectively, with Pandzhikandskim, Shakhristan, Ganchi and Kuhistan-Matcha Sughd area areas in the south and south-east - Shahrinav, Hissar, Varzob, Vahdat and Rasht district of Republican Subordination in Tajikistan in the south-west - Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan.
