Vakhsh district
Vakhsh district administrative district in the Khatlon region of Tajikistan.
The regional center - the settlement of urban type Vakhsh, located 25 km south of the city of Kurgan-Tube, the railroad station "Perepadnaya." 10 729 thousand inhabitants (2008). Office of the Vakhsh irrigation system.
Geography
Vakhsh district located in the valley of the Vakhsh River. It has borders with Sarbandskim area, in the east - and Dangara Farkhor areas in the south - the area of Rumi in the West - with Bokhtar district of Khatlon region.
The territory of the Vakhsh district is 1101.4 sq. km. km.
